I don’t know why N1A and this are being referred to as mixtapes. N1A is the best body of work she’s ever done, and if this one follows suit, they will both be on my top albums of the year list.

Unfortunately Atlantic isn’t allowing her to put out her third album, so this is the compromise; mixtapes of original content that are chucked on iTunes. Tinashe’s dealing with the exact same scenario.

Nowadays it really doesn’t fit any standard; there’s generally samples or covers, but for Charli (and Tinashe for that matter), it’s a way for her and the label to profit without shelling out money on an album.
