Tomb Raider | March 2018

#1

The fate of humanity rests in her hands. Alicia Vikander is Lara Croft.

Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared. From Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Tomb Raider is the story that will set a young and resolute Lara Croft on a path toward becoming a global hero. The film stars Oscar winner Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl) in the lead role, under the direction of Roar Uthaug (The Wave), with Oscar-winner Graham King (The Departed) producing under his GK Films banner. The film¹s production begins on the heels of the 20th anniversary of the wildly popular videogame franchise from Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.

Tomb Raider also stars Dominic West (Money Monster, 300), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained) and Daniel Wu (AMC¹s Into the Badlands).

I think casting a giraffe as Lara was a brave choice.

#3

the shade … lol

I am actually excited for this, loved the new games

#4

I’m still not completely sold on the casting of Lara, but I am here for the reboot. This does look fantastic and I’m hoping it means a lot of positive things for the game, too!

#5

This looks so bad that it could actually ruin the games for me :coffin:

Saw this last night and I really liked it. Alicia’s performance was great and her stunts (she did most of them herself) were amazing. The only complaint is that the film is VERY loosely based on the reboot games and deviates from them quite a bit in certain aspects of the plot. At times it feels like a Tomb Raider movie, but then it also doesn’t at all.

This isn’t my kind of movie, and I loved it! And what’s even more impressive, is she did her own stunts including the water scenes.

#8

This film was really good, they did stay with the original story line for the reboot series with few minor changes but somehow it worked, the acting was great and the action was realistic. Overall 7.5/10

I do hope we will get another one. And the last scene when she buys the guns made me smile. They should include them in the new game tbh.

I still haven’t seen it yet. I’m still not sold on her as Lara tho.
